The Open Sea Stamp Set

Masculine cards can sometimes be a challenge for me. The Open Sea stamp set makes it easy to create a card for a special male someone. I haven't added a sentiment yet because I haven't decided just who will be the lucky recipent of this card. Should it be for my hubby? my dad? or my son? hmmmm, you tell me.  ~Patty

What time is it???

What craft room would be complete without a clock on the wall to know just how much time you have left during your creative therapy session? I will admit I easily lose all track of time when I'm in my craft room working on a project. So, when I saw this vinyl wall clock (Yep, you just rub it onto the wall then hang the center piece w/clock hands) I knew it would go perfectly  in my room (Love anything Red, Black and White or Cream-Color for my craft room)! It helps keep me aware of just how much (or how little) time I have left to create. Speaking of time...its time to get busy making for cards and scrapbook pages! I'll post more projects/ideas soon. ~Patty

This photo did not turn out very well, appears a little cloudy doesn't it?

How do you store your 8 1/2" x 11" Cardstock?

Below is a picture of how I store my 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. Each hanging file folder has a color coded tab with the name of the cardstock on it. They are grouped by color collections (Of course they are!) I like this system because I also keep my larger scraps in the same file (in front of the full size sheets). If I have just a little scrap I toss that into a scrap basket...just in case I might need to use that little itty-bitty scrap some day. This is a very sturdy file, its on wheels and the best part is that this is also a repurposed file cart...it was FREE :-)   ~Patty

A Hutch for Supplies

This repurposed computer desk hutch has made it easy for me to keep this area organized and its a great space for using the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. I also use this space for embossing. I keep the heat gun out and easy to get too! I find that by having things out and ready for use, I use them more! ~Patty

Getting Organized Takes Work!!

I think it is very true that getting organized takes work. And staying organized can sometimes seem impossible! Following a "creative therapy" session I try to tidy up a bit so that the next time the urge to stamp, cut, adhere, and embellish hits me I won't be distracted or discouraged by walking into a messy craft room. Over the next few days I will post some of the ways that I have been able to organize my space. I'm always trying to repurpose items that I find that could somehow help me get & stay organized. I hope some of the ideas I share this week will be helpful to you too! ~Patty
Thank you IKEA!! I use the Bygel rails from IKEA and some precut 2'x2' boards to organize my punches. My wonderful, helpful husband recently hung a 3rd board and rails for me. It wasn't until after he hung them that he realized I now have lots more room to add lots more Stampin'Up! Punches!! - Thank You Honey! :)

Pinwheel Cards

Here are a couple of pinwheel cards I made recently. They look like they would be difficult to make, but trust me, they are NOT! They are actually easier then I thought. What I like about the pinwheel card is that you can use ANY color combination, use printed paper or stamped images. The birthday card on the left is made using Stampin' Up! designer series paper (DSP) punched into squares. The card on the right was made by first randomly stamping images on white card stock and then punching the squares out before mounting them on solid black squares. Easy-peasy! ~Patty

Sometimes Plans Change...and Its All Good!!

Above is a card I was going to make this weekend as I had planned on spending the better part of today playing by having a creative-therapy session with friends and family. But, as we have all experienced before, sometimes our plans change.

Instead of creating cards I got to PLAY with a very lively 4 yr old! My niece came to spend the weekend with us! She is a ball of energy, sweet as can be, and reminds us we should all PLAY a little each day! Hope you have a great weekend! ~Patty
